INSTITUTIONS and MINISTRIES

Berlin
is again the political centre of Germany.
Where once a wall with death strip separated people from
each other, “grows now together what always belonged
together” as the former Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt
said. Architecturally
interested visitors do certainly find a lot of new but also
reconstructed historical buildings which - apart
from their political meaning -
are worthwhile visiting: The
Reichstag - home of the German Parliament - with its dome of glass and the new governmental houses as well as the Office
of the Federal Chancellor. Beyond
those, there are some more places and representation buildings
of political life in Berlin, which the reunification process
brought out: The
old and new Embassy quarters,
Schloss Bellevue - home of the President of the Federal
Republic - and the Upper House of Parliament at Potsdamer Platz.
